Instagram, Facebook and Twitter are all great ways to keep in touch with friends near and far or to peek into a famous person’s life. However, all that endless scrolling and liking of pics, could lead to feelings of inadequacy and fear of missing out. In a recent InStyle article, the magazine interviewed Andrea Vazzana, PhD, whose patients speak to the impact of social media often. “I see middle school kids all the way through adults who beat themselves up as a result of the types of images [they see] on Instagram and assuming that life is grand,” she says.
